I have been searching for two days, I am positive there is something within these forums, or in the wiki with a solution to this problem, but I am on hour 37 of no sleep :) (haha), am probably stupid and missing it every time, but for some reason, I'm not seeing it. So here goes....

My error is during installation, about 80% completed, everything going perfectly fine, and then out of nowhere I get an error stating that it was unable to verify the java package, of some sort, and I must reboot and try installation again. I have tried many different combinations in the install, but the same result every time (and sadly its like 40 minutes into the installation, so not easy to test things). I know I am not the first to recieve this error, and I would really like to know what causes this, and the best way to fix it. I have been wanting to buy a mac for about 5 years now, but can never really afford it. So this is very exciting to me to get osx on my pc!

Specs:

E6600 C2D

Asus Striker Extreme

EVGA 8800 GTX ACS3

2gb RAM

installing onto a 40gb WD HD formatted to "(journaled)" tried not journaled as well, and using guid/MBR (both produce same error)

If you guys need any other information let me know, I will reply with anything needed. Please help, I would love to be running OSX before mid-day tomorrow!!

Ok, the exact terms of the error are "The installer could not validate the contents of the 'java tools' package. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance. Please reboot to try the installation again"
