gasxtreme
Hi, before I go into details regarding the problem I am having, here is a complete list of the hardware I am trying to install on: Shuttle XPC barbone (model SB65G2) Intel 865PE/ICH5 Chipset Pentium 4 2.4Ghz Processor (Socket 478) 2x 512MB sticks of Corsair XMS PC-3200 RAM ATI Radeon 9800Pro 256MB Western Digital 80GB SATA-II HDD (Model WD800AAJS) Sony DVD-ROM/CD-RW combo drive (Model CRX320EE/B2S) I am following this guide in an attempt to dual boot Windows XP Professional and OSX: http://wiki.osx86project.org/wiki/index.ph...DualBoot_10.5.2 I am able to get Windows installed fine, and I get all the way to step 4 on the OSX portion of the tutorial, however when I type " -v " (without parentheses of course) and press enter, it scrolls a couple of lines very quickly, and then reboots. I have tried various other "boot options" that I've seen on various tutorials and such, but with the same result. I was wondering if anyone has had any success dualbooting XP & OSX with the chipset that I have, and if so what they needed to do in order to get it installed. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! Yatman
Hi - I'm having the exact same problem. I have a SHuttle SS56v1.0 and I just installed XP on a 60 GB partition and got to the same step as you. I even tried the -x option and it went pretty far and then crapped out and reboot. I have a 3.2 GHz (NonPrescott) P4, 2GB RAM and a Nvidia 7600GT. MY DVD Drive is the same as yours. mikeshole
Ive got the same hardware and Im running into the same problem. I noticed that having two hard drives (one sata and one ide) screwed up my xp installation and made it reboot the same way the OSX86 boot would. XP would show its splash screen for a second and reboot. If I have the ATA set as Enhanced mode then everything works. However setting that {censored} to auto cased problems. This didn't fix my problem booting osx86 but might be a clue for someone. Im downloading kalaway leapord 10.5.2, Ill let you know if it works out. Also, someone should find out what version this guy used: Guys page Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/105280-shuttle-xpc-rebooting-during-osx-installation/#findComment-982596 Share on other sites
