P5W DH - More than 1GB RAM

Hello everyone, searched around to see if I could find a related thread (I'm sure this has to have been talked about before) but came up with no luck.

 

I have two machines, same specs, P5W DH Deluxe. When I install 1GB of Ram (2x512) I can run Kalyway 10.5.2 all day, everything works like a charm. Install 2GB or 4GB of RAM and I get the 'You must restart your MAC message". Try to reload from scratch and I get misc Panic errors, lockups at different stages. Mostly at picking the installation language. I get the swirling pinwheel cursor and it never goes any further.

 

Tried different RAM, one machine is a quad core, the other a dual. ATI in one, NVidia in the other, so I'm pretty sure I've gotten close to isolating the bump in RAM as the culprit. Using recommended BIOS settings. Again, everything works perfectly on 1GB, 2GB and more and everything goes to hell.

 

Can someone point me in the right direction?
