RogerS
Hi gang: So, I've searched the forum and tried all the posted solutions but still can't get past the "no keyboard" error on the very first 10.4.3 boot. My CPU is a p4 2.8 northwood on a p4x400 motherboard. Ok, don't everyone hurt themselves on the way out the door on this post. I know you smart guys have already moved on to 10.4.4/5, but my understanding is I can't get there with a 10.4.1 install. Here's what I've done: 1) via VMWare 5.0/10.4.1, changed the 10.4.1 boot files to 8f1111 before formatting. 2) installed with DTK image. 3) patched and copied in my own kernel (also tried installing using JAS pkg file on patched disk) 4) copied oah750 and oah750d in 5) deleted FPMem and TPMACPI kext 6) copied PS2 kext in 7) deleted cache and mkext files 8) modified /etc/rc file with load and unload 9) fixed permissions via Disk Util 10.4.1 and also tried via terminal Then tried boot with Logitech wireless PS/2 mouse and keyboard Tried PS/2 with USB chip on motherboard disabled Then even tried USB mouse and USB Apple Extended Keyboard All can't get me past, so I figure I'll try -v at the boot prompt. and it says ApplePS2Controller.kext is not authentic. (check owner/permissions). So what's going on? I got the PS2 10.4.3_DTK zip from the usual source. unzipped in 10.4.1 and moved it via terminal and fixed the permissions. The file size is 1292893. Secondly and probably more importantly, without 10.4.3 how can I move up versions in VMWare. Or is VMWare just a dead end? Ideas?
