grav
I have installed Kalyway + update to 10.5.2 on my hackintosh. Everything is running quite well, I'm using the vanilla kernel, and I can shut down and reboot etc. However, sometimes after a boot (albeit not very often), both cold and warm, I get a kind of jagging performance, i.e. scrolling though the dock or typing on the keyboard is not smooth - the screen is not updated smoothly. The problem only occurs after a boot, e.g. never after having used the computer for a while. A reboot always seems to solve the problem. I've watched the Activity Monitor and nothing's using the CPU much, so I think it's only the grahics performance that's low. My graphics adapter has a nVidia 7200 GS chip, and I've used NVinject for the driver. Any troubleshooting tips? grav
looks like bad support of sleep Okay? Sleep doesn't work so I don't use it. So how come you believe it's related? Krazubu
Only relying on my experience and the symptoms you describe. Try disabling anything related to power management from both the BIOS and the OS and see if it goes better. That also occurs sometimes because of display initialisation, plugging displays differently if possible, and/or using a different NVCAP may help. What should I disable OS-wise? Only thing enabled currently is the sleep-option for the display and the Wake on Ethernet in Energy Saver-prefs. Anything else I should be looking for? Additionally, I'll try using DVI instead of VGA, if that's what you mean by plugging displays differently? Could you tell me more about NVCAP? I can see it's NVInject-related, but don't quite follow your suggestion :-) Thanks for the quick response! pc specs?.........
