Hi,

I downloaded a installer DVD, supposedly maxxuss patched. At least it said so in the filename. I burned the image and installed to a completely new machine (AMD, SSE2). The installation went through just fine so I guess the right kernel patches are in place. However, right at the end of the installation where it is supposed to reboot, it just sits there and displays the rotating bar. A forced reboot gets the machine through POST but then nothing. No boot loader, NADA. As if the system wouldn't even see the hard disk.

Any idea? Basically the install went fine (tried twice) but then it won't boot. NO error messages whatsoever, it just sits there (looks like it read the boot record and then stops).

Thanks!

I had this the first time, so i reinstalled. I still couldnt get it to restart (but i couldnt do that in 10.4.3) but it found the install the second time around. Im at the problem now that all i get is a blank screen when i try to load into 10.4.4.

sorry i cant be of much help, just sharing the experience

I believe there is an installer with the Maxxuss patches, but I havent seen anything on his website about an DVD he has done.

Anyway, did you erase the drive and partition it with the 10.4.4 install DVD? As far as I know, you have to use a 10.4.3 DVD or an existing 10.4.3 install to erase and partition the drive and then you can install 10.4.4 on it.

Sorry for my english, but i have the same problem, I installed it twice, the installation went to the end, then the reboot, but right after the DELL logo, it just display a black screen and then nothing, i discovered that the installation has some problems with the hard drive, because it only let me to install the OS X twice because I had Windows XP on the hard drive and wi fi disabled on the bios, but if I format with another utility or have Wlan on the installation stops and display a blue screen, about 5 seconds later the DVD drive stops the reading.

I think that maybe theres some utility to format the disk or hard drive and the you can install a native OSX 10.4.4 OS.

I have the DVD hacked 10.4.4 install
