simcolor
I've a Core 2 Duo Intel CPU, with Kalyway 10.5.2 DVD. with grub EFI_v8.0 boot_v8 I looked into the system profiler and saw the kernel reads System Version: Mac OS X 10.5.2 (9C7010) Kernel Version: Darwin 9.2.2 Boot Volume: MacOS Model Name: Mac Pro Model Identifier: MacPro3,1 Processor Name: Intel Core 2 Duo Processor Speed: 1.4 GHz Number Of Processors: 1 Total Number Of Cores: 2 L2 Cache: 2 MB Memory: 1 GB Bus Speed: 800 MHz Boot ROM Version: BOOT.EFI.V80 Serial Number: CK157KMHK5B And I checked the mach_kernel on "/", it is about 10MB, the right size as vanilla kernel, and Boot.plist is pointin to this mach_kernel I tend to believe it is on EFI vanilla now, but maybe not since the geekbench 2.0.16 tells me it is still "Hackintosh". I have read somewhere that with EFI+vanilla you can fool the geekbench as a real mac, but then I read somewhere else saying you cannot fool geekbench with version. Can anyone with vanilla kernel confirm that their system profiler shows "darwin 9.xx" or "vanilla 9.xx"? adamsweeting
If your mach_kernel is around 10Mb - then you're using the vanilla kernel. Wish my system would run the vanilla kernel!! - I get kernel panic. So I have to use the speedstep kernel.
