kszo
Hi, I installed the Leopard my PC, one hard drive just for OsX. Everything was working wonderfully, used the "Kalyway_10.5.2_DVD_Intel_Amd" DVD. Just patched the audio as everybody. I was trying the memory stick reader, working all great so I thougt that maybe the original CD of Sony's Sonic Stage had a software for Mac (Sony's iTunes) I inserted the CD and the machine stop working, got the panic screen... so well, I reset the computer and all was gone. "System config file '/Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist' not found." I just check it accessing the drive under windows using MacDrive7 (witch worked well) and can see the volumes but can't access them, it's empty. What I did wrong? and how can I recover my files? I don't want to reinstall all again! Thanks. Specs: GA-P35-DS4. 4GB of Ram (no panic problems). Western Digital 250GB HD S-Ata on JMicron controller. Plextor IDE DVD-RW drive. ATI HD3870, working full and dual display. Microsoft Mouse, Keyboard. Memory Stick Reader. Windows Media Center Remote (won't work under OsX) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104824-partition-gone/ Share on other sites
Whalid
Probably you messed your leo partition. Boot from the Dvd you used to install leo and see if you can see your leo partition. kszo
Yep, I guess that I messed up the partition, just wondering why? so I wouldn't make the same mistake again. Something that could cause the problem is that at the beginning I installed OsX using JMicron controller as IDE. Hard drive is a S-Ata and the DVD drive is IDE. After that I had the 4GB Ram Panic and found that I had to set up the controller as AHCI to solve that. When I boot the pc After setting the JMicron form IDE mode to AHCI it displays that founded the HDD and the DVD Drive in colorful letters. This is before selecting the OS. It shows the DVD Drive like it if where a S-Ata. I solved the 4GB Ram problem. I haven't used the DVD Drive since that, until when I tried this and lost all the partition. Guess that is something I mess up with the DVD Drive drivers making it sending some wrong commands to the HDD when I inserted the CD. I guess that I must reinstall all again and try to find the problem...
