DG33 PCI not working ---> Can you help ?

At last I've got a Kalyway 10.5.2 downloaded and installed on my DG33 mobo.

At first I was quite happy (that dammed G33 chipset led me to spend some extra money on ATI 2400XT and plenty of time trying iATKOS & Kalyway 10.5.1 distros before).

Then I have got my efforts to networking. It should be simple. A cheap NIC would be enough to get wired to internet.

I have tried a 3COM 3C905B and a cheap Kaiomy KM8139D. No success.

System profiler shows me no PCI card (no network interface in Networking).

Then I tried a Wifi TEW-423PI (ACX111 chipset based). Same result: no PCI card listed.

Does anybody know the reason, or has any hint to solve this problem ?

I will appreciate any help.

PS: I have been thru the BIOS and haven't found any parameter to switch on/off PCI slots.

Thx,

Jon

One more IT Mistery !

PCI slot + 3COM NIC woke up.

The real history: from topic http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=99891

I decided to give a try to: pci=assign-busses at Darwin F8 boot parm.

I am not sure that`s the real reason for NIC activation.... but now I`m typing from Safari at 10.5.2 system.

Anyway, that problem were caused by software and there must be a way to fix it up and get things running ok.

I am still counting on you guys to help me setting things up.

TIA,

Jon

Guys, the magic continues ..I'm still running Hackintosh fine.

It seems that F8 options on EFI bits are persistent. Once you set you don't have to specify it again. Very smart if it is so.

Now I will backup it, then I will start updating keyboard layout, I will try to get ATI 2400XT to its full capability and so on...

I thought this DG33 BU mobo would never boot Leopard. This time I am happy I was wrong.
