Opes
Hello everyone, Im thinking about buying a Mac Mini off ebay. I read that the CPU can be upgraded and ofc the RAM too. The one i found on ebay has Intel Core Duo 1.6 GHz, and i was thinking if i could upgrade it to Intel Core 2 Duo. What processor should i buy? Is there any max ghz? - Opes Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104675-upgrading-mac-mini/ Share on other sites

Synaesthesia
You can upgrade to a mobile type Core 2 Duo, but only those that run on 667mhz FSB, not 800mhz. http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....amp;name=Mobile As you can see though, the cpus are expensive, you can spend $250 or more for like a %20 faster system, not really worth it IMO. The core duo processor is good though, if you have 2 gigs RAM Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104675-upgrading-mac-mini/#findComment-745537 Share on other sites
Opes
Thank you for your answers. Would rather buy a new Mac Mini, $250 + memory ($50) is too much for.
