osx86noob69
I successfully installed 10.5.1 on my Dell Latitude d630 on a 20gb partition. I couldn't get it to boot except for safe mode until I figured out I had to disable the dual core. Then it booted and worked perfectly. I hooked the laptop up to a large LCD screen to test resolution changes etc... Now even when the machine is not hooked up to the monitor, after the grey boot screen the Laptop LCD goes blank. I have let it sit for 20+ minutes and it never comes back on. However, if I hook the monitor back up then it works fine -- I can control the OS and It had been booted that whole time just waiting for me to hook that monitor back up. I can't seem to find any way in system preferences to change this setting. Is there a conf file or lib file somewhere that needs to be edited?? Please help... I really want to get this up and running again so I can run the 10.5.2 update, and the Kalyway kernel update etc... Gujal
Go ahead and finish all the updates 10.5.2, leopard graphics update etc., with the External Monitor connected. After everything is completed, get the BrazilMac patch file which contains AppleIntelIntegratedFrameBuffer.kext, backup the one in your extensions folder and copy the one from BrazilMac and reboot without external monitor. Everything should be fine. It worked on my D630 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/104409-kalyway-1051-on-dell-latitude-d630-boots-into-blank-screen-after-hooking-up-external-monitor/#findComment-743493 Share on other sites
