I've just got leo4allv2 up and running on my system. Everything has gone smoothly so far except sound.

My firewire sound card is supposed to be core audio complient and it show's in the sound options but when trying to play music i get the following problems.

vlc) mp3's start playing but I might only hear a couple of seconds of music per track if that. At first I thought it wasn't working at all, until out crackled a couple of seconds of the mp3.

itunes) mp3's simply do not start playing at all.

my system is as follows;

Asus maximus formula x38

Q6600 quad core

4GB ram

Ati x1900 XT

Edirol FA-66

Cheers,

John

I've tried editing my boot.plist file with the following options;

I'd heard that using idlehalt=0 and cpus=1 as boot options was worth a try.

Unfortunately now that I have done this OS X just restarts upon boot unless I use the "-x" option. With this I don't seem to get any audio device detected at all.

Anyone know where I'm going wrong?

Ok well this is all sorted now.

As many have said before it was all down to Firewire chipset incompatibility.

My asus maximus formula uses a VIA firewire chip.set.

Got myself a StarTech 3 port Firewire 800 PCI card with a Texas Instruments chipset and my edirol is now singing like a bird. Wonderful. :D
