hocky98
I have kalyway 10.5.2 installed on a Dell E1705 based on the nvidia Go7800 (if that matters) 2.0GHz Yonah duocore. The system appears to have the 440x based ethernet controller. The drivers for it from Kalyway 10.5.2 initially drives it, but after a while it chokes and ends up disconnecting from the network. I believe the driver needs to be update but I have no idea how to do this. The hardware is fine as I'm using it to type this thread from Vista. When this issue happens the ifconfig -a output for en0 shows "promisc". Does this mean promiscuous mode? why does it change? After the connection problems, I can see a huge amount of collisions on the switch. Using either DHCP or straight IP assignment does the same thing. I have to ifconfig en0 down/up to reset it. This is the only thing that is preventing me from using "hackintosh" right now. Curiously the same driver on my E1505 also does the same thing but luckily the airport driver on the E1505 works but not on the E1705. However on the E1505 I have the dreadful ATI x1400 driver issue where the screen is very wide at 1400x1050. Does anyone know what I can do about the network issue on the E1705? hocky98
Anyone? One other possibility is that Parallels and/or Fusion could be causing the problem. Anyone else see this?
