anthonyseebioux
Hello Everybody, Newbie to the OSX realm. As mentioned in my topic title I have recently installed HP 9736ca laptop. I have installed the KALYWAY 10.5.5 SSE2 SSE3 Intel AMD build. My system specs are below. The specs are as follows: CPU : Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T5500 (actually a T5450 @ 1.66GHz) MOTHERBOARD: Quanta 30CB ver. 79.26 SYSTEM MEMORY: 2048MB of RAM(2 x 1024 DDR2 SO-DIMM PC2-5300[333mhz] SAMSUNG) CHIPSET(S): Northbridge- Intel GM965 rev. c0 , Southbridge- Intel 82801HBM (ICH8-ME) rev .03 VIDEO CARD: PCI-Express Nvidia GeForce 8600GS 512MB RAM SOUND CARD: Realtek High Definition WIRELESS NIC: Intel® Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN WEBCAM: HP Webcam SPEAKERS: Altec Lansing Built-in Speakers MONITOR: 17" Widescreen The install was successful. However there are a few issues: 01. The sound does not work. I am able to access the volume control and adjust the volume using the media buttons that are built into the laptop. However there is no sound Update: Friday May 9, 2008 - Got the audio working! Used two packages, 1) AzaliaAudio.pkg (which gave me the volume controls) 2) alc268_january08 (gave me the sound!) Still working on the external ports though :censored2: 02. The system goes to sleep and I am unable to wake it. If I walkaway for a while I notice that the system screen goes black and I must power off the laptop to access it again. I have changed the screen save to "never", to no avail. I have also installed the package from the Kalway where it states that it is for the known lock up issue ( sorry I can' t remember the actual package name) 03. Plugging in USB devices. My USB devices work, however I must turn off the computer and leave the device plugged in, in order to see the device after the reboot. Not really true plug and play. What can I do to make using USB devices easier and use them without rebooting the system? Once again I am very new to this. So any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.
