matsu
Well, I've been looking around to a solution for my problem, and I've got some ideas but I don't want to waste my time too much from here. For starters, my computer is a Gateway GM5632E. I have two SATA hard drives, one unformated (intended for the installation). It's on an Intel G33 chipset. As the guides say, I set my non-Windows hard drive as primary in BIOS; however, I can never even get to the installer for OS X. I ran the Kalyway 10.5.1 release in verbose mode, and it stops at this point: MAC Framework successfully initialized using 15728 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers IOAPIC: Version 0x20 Vectors 0:23 ACPI: System State [s0 S3 S4 S5] (S3) Extension "com.apple.driver.ApplePCIConfigurator" has immediate dependencies on both com.apple.kernel and com.apple.kpi componen ts; use only one style. mbinit: done Security auditing service present BSM auditing present From path: "uuid", Waiting for boot volume with UUID ... I've also seen on here that some people have not had this issue, and have specifically mentioned VIA 8237. Would a release such as iATKOS help me past this problem? (I'm hoping to avoid wasting more bandwidth.) Any help would be most graciously received. Thanks! Khalid
I have the same problem. But i am using Leo4All v3. I'm currently testing on my Acer Ferrari 4003WLMi laptop. It worked perfectly on my desktop. I think it has to do with my x200 chipset. Or the fact that its Amd X64? Hopefully someone can shed some light on this... Reveeen
1) A Gateway GM5632E ships with a Intel one-off board for Gateway a DG33SXG2. It comes with a goofy ITE atapi controller on board, and requires specific drivers. You can find the ITE drivers on the Intel site for the DG33TL board. There are no Mac drivers. 2) ATI chipsets are problematic AT BEST, at worst they don't work for this, with a ATI chipset board you can compensate (hooking hardrive and DVD drive to the primary IDE channel, as it is the secondary channel that get's "lost"). With a laptop you can try installing from a USB DVD drive. I can't use Leo4All v3, the installation ok but I can't boot to leopard, I beleive it to do with AMD chip. zionsworld
Make sure you activate your partition after the install. There is a guide on how to do so around here somewhere. eddie11c
For those with waiting for root device for the install try pointing to your DVD drive manually. rd=disk#s# This worked for a friend with an SB600 chipset. The problem stems from the chipset. If I put the IDE device ID in, then half the people will be stuck but when i remove it the other half are stuck. EDIT: I also get another error before this, "ApplePS2Controller:Times out on keyboard input stream" and the rd command doesn't help.
