perrin457
Hi, I stupidly installed a different appleachiport.kext when everything was running peachy, (it was installed with a pack of kext's supposedly for my motherboard) and now I can't boot into OSX via the normal way OR with the -s flag. I get this error: Failed to load extension com.apple.driver.AppleACHIPort. Couldn't alloc class "AppleACHI" I know where the old kext backup is, but I have no idea how to restore it without being able to boot. The original kext worked fine, with the sata drive running under AHCI. I also tried changing the bios to IDE mode, but still does not boot. - motherboard is P5E-wifi. (ICH9 chipset) - osx version 10.5.2 vanilla kernel. any help greatly appreciated, thanks Perrin Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103690-how-can-i-restore-old-kexts-without-being-able-to-boot-even-to-single-user-mode/ Share on other sites
