thenameisgabe
What distro did you use? If it is a setting in your bios, make sure you have ahci enabled. Try different distros (kalyway, iatkos, leo4all) and see if any of them boot. hellafax
I tried, over the weekend, to get both Kalyway and Leo4All up and running on a D810 as well... to no success. Leo4All got into the installers, and actually did the install. However, upon reboot I received the 'Waiting for Root Device' error. Gave up after that, hehe. digerati
Ok I now have Xp, Ubuntu, and OSX Leopard installed on this Dell Latitude D810. The leo4all installed without a hitch. I sorta fubard it though installing it onto the partition that had ubuntu on it, but then I just reinstalled ubuntu, and while in there, edited the menu to boot the osx and all was gravy. On thing though, my wireless is not working at all yet and I do not see the battery icon while its unplugged. I am new to MAC so there is a lot for me to learn. hellafax
You got the leo4all v3 installed? Leopard? How did you get through the Waiting for Root Device errors? pizzamang
Yeah, it would be nice if those of you who have had any positive results would post them here.Thanks. I agree, anyone who's gotten an install to go onto a D810, i'd appreciate knowing which distro you used and method used to install it. I have tried Ideneb 1.3, kalyway, 10.5.2 and most currently leo4all v3 all with no success. I've wiped my drive and started with a single partition and can't seem to get into the meat and potatoes of the install. Kalyway comes closest, but freezes shortly after language selection, where the Driver lists appear instead of the EULA. Tinkering with leo4all now, it's hanging...jnl: unknown-dev: open: phys_blksz 2048 does not match journal header size 512 jettisoning kernel linker unknown SIGFPE code 1, subcode 0. I could probably produce a few snapshots of the various screens, just would love to hear someone running any flavor of OS10 on a Dell D810 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103519-trying-to-install-on-latitude-d810/#findComment-1024581 Share on other sites
