wheresmygoat
Ok, I'm having some trouble even getting to the basic Mac install screen. A rundown of the hardware: Intel D875PBZ Motherboard Pentium 4 3.0 GHz with Hyperthreading 2gigs RAM (PC3200) ATI Radeon 9800 Pro (256mb AGP) SATA1.5 Hard drive I've tried both a Kalyway 10.5.1 and a Leo4allv3 10.5.2 install disk. Neither version is getting past the Darwin loader, the system resets before it finishes loading. My BIOS settings seem iffy, but I don't really know where to start on that since I can't find much info about my particular motherboard running OS X. CPU-Z indicates SSE2, but SSE3 is not present. If more info is needed about the current BIOS settings, I can provide them. wheresmygoat
I just read another thread and this is apparently a common problem with SSE2 processors. Something to do with EFI not being compatable. I guess we just need to wait for a non-EFI version of the OS. Does anyone know if Tiger will work with SSE2 processors? RS197768
I had no problem installing tiger 10.4.6 on my sse2 only p4. The maker of the Leo4all distro's is looking into the sse2 only problem. He says that he has currently a distro in the making that should work on sse2 only installs. But it is still waiting before this will be released.
