kc2013
Hey all, I've got a slight issue with my setup and I'm curious if anyone has any insight.. Here's my setup: Hack running 10.5.2 on a shared 320gig disk with Windows (2 MBR Partitions). Everything runs fine, no problems. My issue is that I'd like to migrate my off my old small disk to my new one (500 GIGS!) that has a much larger OS X Partition. As of right now I can't seem to do it and I'd rather not do a reinstall since everything is working GREAT! I've tried using Acronis True Image which works wonders with Windows disks/partitions, but since HFS+ is not a native filesystem it has to do a bit copy which means I'm not able to resize the partition on the new disk. No matter what I do it'll always keep the original partition size on the OS X side, works great for NTFS though! I've also tried using SuperDuper, but for whatever reason it cannot make my new disk bootable, it always complains about the System folder and not being able to copy certain things. Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't SuperDuper suppose to do more of a bit-copy so that wouldn't matter? I'm also having the same issues with CCC which always falls back to a file copy for some reason. Another thing I've tried was to do a full install on my new disk in hopes that works some magic, then do a clone with SuperDuper/CCC, but that fails as well.. So, does anyone have any ideas what can be done in a situation like this? I didn't think it would be that hard to do this, but I guess I was wrong! Thanks everyone!! -KC Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103463-migrating-cloning-leopard-to-another-disk/ Share on other sites

knewsom
hmmm.. that's odd - it worked perfectly for me. exactly how are you trying to implement it? What I did was remove the HD from my G5 and plugged it into a SATA port on the new machine. Didn't have any trouble spotting it, but it also wasn't a drive from another hackintosh.
