msantoso
anyone knows which brand provide PCI/Mini PCI-Express Dual Band Wireless N for PC Motherboard? looking to upgrade to wireless N w/ Airport Extreme Base Station but interested to use 5GHz as well. Currently only 2.4GHz wireless N available in PCI / PCI-e interface that i know of. TL-WN951N (PCI Interface) http://www.tp-link.com/products/product_des.asp?id=137 D-Link DWA-556 Xtreme N (Edit: I think this is PCI-Express 1x interface available in common PC motherboard nowadays, can we use this port in hack OSX86?) http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=549&sec=0 i think both use Atheros 5008 chipset, but only runs @ 2.4GHz Currently using TP-Link TL-WN651G (recognised as native airport through the help available from this forum). Edit: Purpose of upgrade to stream content to AppleTV. current wireless bandwidth not enough to stream content, too far from PC - Router - AppleTV. Current data transfer rate range between 100-600Kbps. thanks Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103162-dual-band-wireless-n-pcipci-express-1x/ Share on other sites

I'd recommend getting a mini pcie to pcie adapter and then get a mac mini pcie wifi card, it's easiest way to get it working to 5ghz. that's what I'm using now. I got the mac pro wireless mini pcie 2 antennae version with an adapter I got from eBay, flawless Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103162-dual-band-wireless-n-pcipci-express-1x/#findComment-1453783 Share on other sites
