Panarchy
Hello! Trying to tri-boot (quad boot in a few minutes). Keep getting the HFS+ Partition error (This time around [by time I mean install] it gives me this error); HFS+ Partition Error H00800700 Before the reinstall it gave me this error; HFS+ Partition Error H00000000 The only way I've been able to boot into Leopard either time, is by keeping the installations CD (Kalyway 10.5.2) in the drive at all times. The only way I can boot into XP or Vista is by going into the BIOS and change hard-drive priority (all installed on one hard-drive though... weird ) I am about to install BackTrack3 which will also install GRUB. If the problem still isn't fixed (almost certainly won't be) please help me fix this error! Thanks in advance, Panarchy Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103108-hfs-partition-error/ Share on other sites

jizzle
This guide is for restoring our nice, working hackintosh's darwin bootloader. Basically, Vista RTM foobars our working MBR's bootloader and you get "HFS+ partition error". In following, I will assume we have one HDD with two partitions: part#1 = OSX and part#2 = Vista (note: this is important, make sure u flag the right partition as described below) 1. Boot off OSX dvd disc in single user mode (press F8 and type -s) 2. At single user prompt fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 1 update write quit 4 reboot At this point OSX should boot up, just like prior to Vista installation. 1 In a terminal window, su root fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 2 quit 2 reboot Vista will say "\Window\system32\winload" corrupted, and it will tell you to insert Vista disc. Boot from Vista CD and click on "repair computer", if the Vista CD is able to detect your Vista OS then it will say "windows have found error with ur boot MBR" or something this, go ahead click "repair" or "ok", but If Vista's CD is unable to detect the Vista OS, then go ahead follow the steps below. Boot into Vista CD and click on "Repair Computer" then click "Next" or watever, and then from the next window, click on "command Prompt" or something like that. Then :- 1. Diskpart 2. List Disk 3. Select Disk # (if u only have one HD then it should read "Select Disk 0") 4. List Partition 5. Select Partition # (replace # with ur vista partition, if vista was installed first then it should be partition 1) 6. Active 7. Exit 8. Restart your computer with Vista CD still in the CD ROM 9. Boot into the Vista CD. 10. Click on "repair computer" (this time Vista CD should find ur Vista OS and it will say "windows has found error, would u like to fix it", click "ok" or "yes" watever it is. 11. Computer will restart, but make ur u take your Vista CD out before it restarts. 1. Boot off OSX dvd disc for single user one last time (press F8 and type -s) 2. At single user prompt fdisk -e /dev/rdisk0 flag 1 quit 3. reboot You will discover that Vista recovered and left MBR's darwin bootloader intact Guide Taken from :- http://www.errorforum.com/microsoft-window...stallation.html hope this helps:) Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/103108-hfs-partition-error/#findComment-736816 Share on other sites
