baylorbear
Is anyone else having problems installing and running World of Warcraft on their computers? I'm using the Kalyway distro, 10.5.2. Whether I download or use the WoW DVDs, it gets ALMOST finished and then I get some message about an install file being bad or problems reading the device "/" Anybody found a way around this? Thanks a bunch guys! Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/102918-problems-installing-world-of-warcraft/ Share on other sites
sarahbau
I don't think it's related to the hackintosh. I had the same problem three times in a row on one of my computers (I can't remember if it was my PowerBook or my PC) when I first got WoW. Eventually it went all the way though. baylorbear
Hi Sarahbau, thanks for your reply! I fixed the install issue by booting into safemode - everything went smoothly. I'm presently downloading the latest game patch. When loading the game the first time tho (before it prompted me to download the patch) I noticed some crazy nasty frame rates. I'm using the NVidia 8400 GS graphics card and under Windows I get excellent frame rates -- between 30 and 50. Any idea what might be causing this? I've found some results searching on Google but they're all for video cards different from my own. Any posts you can direct me to would be most helpful! I'm keeping my fingers crossed that I'm not going to get that "couldn't activate 3D support" that I've seen in a ton of posts. Guess we'll see when this patch finishes downloading.
