jbjonas
before you can set the networking options, you need to make sure your network card is working. I don't know if that particular USB adapter has drivers supporting it... check the wiki, HCL. jbjonas
Not sure what to tell you. The wiki has no listings for that adapter. It just might not work (a lot of us ended up buying pci card ethernet adapters that are compatible for just this reason - my onboard ethernet doesn't work for example). The CD you have is for Apple hardware. You can try using the driver for 10.2 that it has, but I doubt it will work. I belive the driver needs to written specifically for OS X on x86 hardware. And since its a 'hack' no manufacturers write drivers for it... Thats why we all end up using the few ethernet cards out there that work with the drivers that Apple included in the development software. C0ReDump
System: MAC OSX x86 tiger 10.4.3.8f1099 patched 1.1a(Maxxuss) installed by DVD-MAC OSX x86 tiger 10.4.3.8f1099 All things work well, but just can`t connect to the internet. network card:ADMtek ADM8513 USB To Fast Ethernet Adapter Cable modem. And by the way,how i can setting network option? Go to terminal and type ifconfig this will give you a list of network devices recognized by OS X nad look for et0 or similar. Output looks like this for et0, do not look at other entries: en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 inet6 fe80::213:20ff:feb8:34aa%en0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x4 inet 192.168.1.100 netmask 0xffffff00 broadcast 192.168.1.255 ether 00:13:20:ba:32:bb media: autoselect (100baseTX <full-duplex>) status: active this tells that there is ethernet running, and ID is et0, MTU is 1500 bytes, some inte6 info and IP address as well as netmask. Status is active. There u go. If it does not work, save yourself nerves trying to get it running and get $10 network card Dlink T530+ rev. C, it works for sure, i have it on my other sys.
