Greetings.

I am sure this has been talked about many times, but I haven't seen a concrete answer anywhere on the forums.

I have 'osx86_10.4.4 Install DVD.iso', it is 4.37GB, and I believe it may be the unpatched install image for OSX x86 10.4.4

So, could someone tell me what I need to do to patch it?

I don't have a windows machine, all I have are linux and mac ppc boxes.

When I try to boot the image in virtual pc it tells me the hardware is not supported.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The ISO is converted under OS X itself (you have a catch-22 there), or with the help of a utility that exists for Windows that I don't know exists for Linux, which reads and writes HFS formatted ISO images directly. Most patches done under Windows involve using this utility to replace various plist and binary files.

Get the 10.4.4 dmg on your Mac PPC. Find the Maxxuss patches for 10.4.4 and read his info about the conversion procedure. Most of the things to do are terminal commands to enter as the root privilege user, affecting a version of the 10.4.4 dmg mounted with read/write privs.

Some of his older methods copy the Extensions locally and run them, which is fruitless on a PPC OS X. Find his procedure for 10.4.4 that makes a new burn image out of the original, burn that, boot it.
