OK. Here's the situation. I have a client that wants Leopard installed on a 2U rack server that we built for him, fresh install, no Microsoft OS. this is my first time attempting a Leopard install, so I am a Newbie. I would greatly appreciate the experience and knowledge of the insanelyMAC community on this one. I pretty much need a beginning to end guide to installing this. the computer hardware is listed below:

dual e5405 2.0Ghz XEON quad-core CPUs

Asus DSBF-D/SAS motherboard(SAS controller disabled, INTEL Matrix SATA RAID controller enabled, built in ATI ES1000 video)

2x4GB ECC FB-DIMMs

Four(4) Western Digital 500GB drives, setup as Hardware RAID-5 in the Intel Matrix storage BIOS

MAC OS X Server v10.5 Leopard Retail 10 Client

I downloaded the iATKOS image file and burned it to a DVD and booted from that. The basic OS installer loads, and when it gets to the part to select which disk to install to, i get nothing. It will not recognize the RAID-5 array, nor any of the individual discs for that matter.

I am hoping that someone here can suggest a course of action for me to combat this roadblock, as well as predict and foresee any other problems i will have, and suggest a course of action to remedy the situation. Basically I am complete Newbie when it comes to attempting soemthing liek this, as I am unfamiliar with MACs in general.

Thanks for holding my hand,

Ronnie

OK.. after further discovery, i found that turning off the raid controller in the bios allows the leopard installer to see the hard drives, so i am concluding that it is not recognizing the intel matrix storage controller. how do i get it to recognize the raid controller and support it?
