AwwJeah
i've been following the guide over at http://www.profit42.com/guides.php?id=1 and everything has been running smoothly thus far. however, i've got a hang up when i get between step 10 and 11. i use partition magic to set my new partition as active. partition magic restarts my computer like the guide says it will. however, the guide says that i'm supposed to get some kind of error and that i'm supposed to insert the dvd with osx on it. this error does not occur and my hdd instead boots straight into windows. any suggestions? oh, and also, i think i should mention that i'm using the osx86-fully-patched-sse2-rosetta-ati version and that these are some of my system specs: Gateway M460 1.86GHz Intel Pentium M 1.00 GB of RAM ATI Mobility Radeon X600 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10260-partition-hangup/ Share on other sites

R. Bear Helms
He must have an unstated assumption that your BIOS settings will always boot a bootable DVD if one is present. The fact it's going to Windows indicates either the BIOS doesn't even check for DVD bootable, or something happened making the DVD installer not bootable for you. NS91
10. Right click your new partition and set it active.Did you set the right partition as active (The partition made for Mac)? You might have set the Windows one as active, which it already is. I used the same guide and had no problem. AwwJeah
well after checking my bios settings i can now safely say that the problem doesn't lie in the boot sequence. and now that there doesn't appear to be any issue with the partition i set up, i am only left to assume that there is something wrong with the file or the dvd i burned the file to.
