Headroadie2004 Posted April 30, 2008 Share Posted April 30, 2008 Howdy. I have been thinking about building a new computer and runing mac OSX 10.5. I saw a couple AMD quad socket motherboards available. That would give me a total of 16 cores. I was wondering if anyone has tried such a configuration. frauhottelmann Posted May 14, 2008 Share Posted May 14, 2008 Well, sounds prettty good. Since we are not talking about the price (I think), but you need pricey EEC RAM. And you can't go for good graphic cards here (SLI and co). As far as I know you can overclock the Phenoms (up to 3GHz) pretty good, I don't know about the Opterons, but with this power you do not really need to overclock!
