corkey20000 Posted February 26, 2006 Share Posted February 26, 2006 Well, let me start by saying im using tiger-x86.tar as my image. I am unaware of what version it is. My computer stats are- Emachines T2240 Geforce Fx5200 256MB (also tried with Intel 82845 G and still no luck) 640 RAM Intel Celeron CPU 2.20Ghz Whenever i select to boot into it at the dual boot screen im just sitting there at a flashing underscore...could someone suggest something that i am doing wrong, im new to all this x86 on windows so any help is appericated. d11wtq Posted February 27, 2006 Share Posted February 27, 2006 You used the tar file as the image? The tar contains the image you need to copy to the drive... it's not the image itself. I used this guide http://osxx86.orgfree.com/installguide.htm yeah i was thinking the .tar to write to the drive wasn't right...but when i try and extract the .tar i get an 'The archive is corrupt' error. any ideas where to go from here?
