I have a nForce 3 based board and I got the Leo4All v3 release to install correctly...

Only when I go to load it, it stops after a string of errors that starts with:

"ehci controller unable to take control from bios"

I have been searching and searching and found this PCGenUSBECHI.ktext from this thread

http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?sho...=28559&st=0

But I have no idea how to insert that ktext (since I can not boot into OS X)

And since this is a brand new ISO (v3) would it not already have this ktext in it?

I have tried safe mode, I have disabled the USB keyboard option, and none of these things have changed anything

And what is this Leo4Allv3-OldNforce-PPF.ppf.zip that comes with the release (I didn't download it, but I have access to it)

Would that help?

How do I use that?

thanks

Here are the specs of my machine:

AMD Socket 939 X2 3800+

Gigabyte GA-K8NSC939

Onboard Video Disabled

Radeon X1550 Series PCIE Card

I used macdrive to add that file linked above to the system folder... replaced all

now I get yellow text saying that it failed to load that extension

Tried setting the motherboard into USB 1.1 mode, getting a hang at

Waiting on <dict ID="0"><key>IOProvidierClass</key><string ID="1">IOResource</string><key>IOResourceMach</key><string ID=2">boot-uuid-media</string></dict>

Still waiting for root device

Setting it into safe mode I get:

USBF: 50.791 AppleUSBOHI[0x3387800]::CheckSleepCompatabillity - OHCI controller will be unloaded across sleep

Still waiting for root device

In case you ever make it back into OS X again, open Disk Utility and run "Repair Permissions". That might help or not, but it's the basis.

Other than that, if you can't run kext helper, it sounds as if you should reinstall, either with other options under "customize", or even a different release DVD ..

Nick4753, it is usually OK to do kext swapping via MacDrive as long as the kext(s) already exist(s) because MacDrive does not change permissions of existing files, but it is required that you also delete /System/Library/Extensions.mkext before booting back into Mac OS ..
