Hi,

I am running Jas 10.4.8 on my dv2637tx hp pavilion laptop. I was wondering if anyone can give me some information on display drivers.

I have managed to get some luck with Geforce 8400M GS card, but still no good results

Here is my system profiler, Graphics / Display

Display:

Type: Display

Bus: PCIe

VRAM (Total): 32 MB

Vendor: NVIDIA (0x10de)

Device ID: 0x0427

Revision ID: 0x00a1

Kernel Extension Info: No Kext Loaded

Displays:

Display:

Resolution: 1280 x 800

Depth: 32-bit Color

Core Image: Not Supported

Main Display: Yes

Mirror: Off

Online: Yes

Quartz Extreme: Not Supported

I have read about Leopard and some users having success with card but I would like to get my Tiger with nice display before I move to 10.5.

Thank you !

Jit

hello!

You have the package NVInstaller for geForce graphics chipsets...

You can select older version that 41, for example 34... and test it (in the installer, select install ultimate kext and framework, if you dont install, the system crash)

You have the installers here:

Good Look!

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, I have downloaded the package from scottdangel's blog but when i try to install it it bombs out, and when i run

$sudo installer -verbose -volinfo -pkg NVInstallerV.41.pkg

i get

$ Broken pipe

I have tried all the packages listed on that page, I also have checked my install.log it says:

installer: Error parsing distribution script: /Users/jitwalia/Desktop/NVInstallerV.34.pkg

xmllint: -:1: parser error : Start tag expected, '<' not found\n

xmllint: xar!\n

xmllint: ^\n

Do you have any suggestions?

Best Regards,

Jit

Maybe it will work only with Leopard.

You can try with pacifist.

But even if you succes installing the Nvidia Kexts they are for Leopard, I believe they wont work on Tiger.
