DeadAtBirth
so. I had parts kicking around, but was unsuccessful. I tried EVERYTHING to get the P5N SLI motherboard to work. no go. couldn't find root device error. so, at work we had motherboards i got at cost. my system: (prices are in cnd) Kalyway 10.5.2 Asus P5KPL-VM ($80) 2 gigs Kingston ram ($60) 450w psu ($25) xfx 8600 GT 256mb ($85) atrix case ($30) dlink ethernet card ($9) Intel E8400 3ghz dual core OEM ($209) 320gb hdd IDE ($60) pioneer 20x dvd-r ($25) $583 dollars to build my 3ghz dual core mac. only the onboard network didnt work for me outta the box. i havnt gotten the dlink card to work quite yet, but there are native drivers avail. i didn't have to do any command switches during the kalyway start of install. sound worked right outta the box for the board too. I havnt installed NVInject yet, but so far everything is working very well. no issues or lockups!!!!! edit: i had to turn power features off. it would lock a copy trying to save power. no biggie!
