So, after much effort in research and trials, I still cannot even begin to install osx86.

Setup

Gateway M-285e Tablet Notebook

2.0 ghz Intel Core Duo

Ati Radeon x1400

1gig ram

I have attempted using 3 installs

iAtkos 1.0ir2

Kalyway 10.5.1

Leo4allv3

I first started my efforts by trying to use the popular install guide to dualboot XP and Leopard, except I wanted to try to keep my current windows installation. No luck, ended up wiping the hard drive and starting fresh.

No matter what I try, when I boot into the Leopard Install and go to DiskUtility, the only thing that shows up is the leopard install dvd. The one exception is when using iAtkos 1.0ir2. When first booted, it shows no hard drive. However if left to sit for about 10 minutes, my hard drive mysteriously shows up. However, if I try to partition, erase, or any other operation, it freezes up and I get the spinning wheel of death.

Now the one thing I know about this system, is that f*cktard Gateway uses a harddrive setup that requires separate drivers when installing from a non-Gateway disk. Gateway was also so kind as to only give me a recovery CD and not a proper install CD. I also don't have a floppy drive which is the only way the Gateway driver installer is supported. The only other option is to make my own custom install disk with the drivers.....

My question is, are these drivers the problem with my Leopard install? and if not, what am I doing wrong that I can't get my hard drive partitioned and formated properly?

I ablsolutely hate windows, and I've always loved mac. The only reason I even have this computer is because my college required my incoming year to buy tablet PC's (which they no longer required after that year).
