iATKOS R2 usb boot failiure

I just installed iATKOS R2 with the EFI emulator on and external USB hdd, however when I boot from usb all i get is "_" blinking.

 

I tried both EFI and the old x86 bootloader.

 

I have a HP pavilion dv2700 laptop.

 

specs are

2GB Ram

intel core 2 duo

intel centrino

usb 2.0

 

this is on an external so the internal is NOT modified in any way.

 

note: BIOS is set to boot from usb HDD and the DVD worked perfectly. I also tried it on another pc to no avail. I also checked the "active partition" and it is set to the mac partition.
