jfoust
Hi everyone! I was running an early early version of OSX86 on an old laptop, but it wasn't pretty. Now I'm trying on my new desktop with 10.5.1 and I'm not having a ton of luck. First I had an IDE DVD-RW that wasn't being picked up, so that was a good excuse to go SATA. Now I can get the installer, and it tries to install... The first time I tried I got 98% done and got a "unknown error that failed the install" message. I tried again and it installed okay, but it never booted... After my BIOS loaded and it went to look for a boot record on the drive, nothing happened. Absolutely nothing. Not an Apple Logo, error message or anything. I thought it might just be slow, so I waited 30mins and it never budged! Here's my system if it matters: Abit IP35-e mobo Intel C2D 6600 2GB Corsair DDR2 800Mhz WD 400GB SATA HDD (on port #5, like the compatibility thread says) Onboard sound and LAN (no IDE drives at this point) Extra 320GB HDD w/ my windows install So will it work to install it to a second drive like that? I am going in the BIOS and re-ordering my drive boot priority to tell it to boot the WD drive that should have OSX on it., so I know it's looking in the right place. Any thoughts? -J Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/101563-trouble-getting-going-working-my-way-through-some-issues/ Share on other sites
