Chain booting error.. >.>

Using Leo4allv3.

 

This is what I did:

1) Installed XP on one partition

2) Installed Leopard on another (I made the partition FAT32 in Windows beforehand)

3) Used GParted to make Windows bootable so I could add 'chain0' to C:\

4) Edited 'boot.ini' for dual boot and added 'chain0' to C:\

5) After selecting the Leopard OS in the Windows Bootloader screen, it displays the message "Chain booting error"

 

Headed over to the Wiki to see possible causes but I checked and didn't find anything out of place..

- MD5 Checksum from the image was good

- Partition Magic shows the Leopard partition as 'type 0xaf'

- Leopard partition is not under 'extended partition' and is set as 'Primary'

- MD5 Checksum from chain0 file is good

 

Tried searching for an answer on the forums but they were mostly all the same as the Wiki. The only thing I'm having trouble doing is checking to see if there is a valid partition boot sector. Could anyone tell me how I could do that please? =]

 

Would it be better if I installed it on an external hard drive instead?

install xp then install leopard then stick your xp cd in and repair the installation and it will(should) fix it where both work

 

 

if not i think you need the "GRUB" bootloader
