I did not buy an internal hard drive since I have a 120GB IDE drive I swaped out of my previous system.

I have downloaded Zephyroth's v2 as well as leo4all v2 AND v3. None of these install disks will boot to an install screen. in -v verbose mode I always get different errors concerning SATA interface.

Some problems i suspect:

1) i am currently using a SATA DVD burner and an IDE hard drive partioned like this:

hd0,0: windows xp, ntfs 72.2 GB

hd0,1: ubuntu 8.04, ext2 19 GB

hd0,2: FAT32 (this is suppsed to be the mac partition) 19 GB

hd0,3: linuxswap 512 MB

did i partition improperly?

is the sata DVD drive not compatble with the IDE hard drive?

2) i can only have one ide device plugged into the MoBo

3) i can have up to three sata devices plugged into the MoBo

What are the problems associated with this setup?

I dont know what to do. i am so frustrated trying to install macOS. what am i doing wrong?!
