I'm hoping you can remember back that far! I too have Leo4allv3 now running on my Dell Dimension E521. I have an ATI Radeon X1300 PRO graphics card which doesn't give me a choice of screen resolutions, nor does the onboard graphics. The sounds doesn't work either. I don't get any recognized hardware. Graphics: I am looking to buy an nVidia GeForce 7300 GT 256MB card to hopefully plug and play. Did you have any issues loading the kexts or was it straight forward? Sound: Was the sound from the integrated sound controller on the motherboard? Again did you have any issues loading the kexts or was it straight forward? I'm new to the Mac and kext thing. Do you have any pointers to a good tutorial? Thanks in advance Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/101359-dell-dimension-e521-working-with-leo4allv3/#findComment-1530875 Share on other sites
e13c7r0nic
I'm also trying to get OS X running on a Dell Dimension E521. I was able to install 10.6.4, but I can't for the life of me get hardware acceleration for my video card. I've tried two cards and have gotten the same result. When I add my hardware ID to NVDAResman I get video through the boot sequence all the way until it load the window manager, i.e. the desktop is supposed to be displayed. At that point the monitor turns off. Has anyone been able to get CI and QE to work on an E521?
