Problems installing off external DVD.

Hi,

 

I'm trying to install some form of Leopard on my PC (P4 dual core) but have hit a snag right at the start.

 

When I boot off the external DVD player ( USB ) I get the error "com.apple.boot.plist missing"

 

The DVD is fine because Darwin loads ok on my laptop.

 

Any ideas how to get round the error short of my buying and installing an internal DVD.
