WHAT I DID

++++++++++++++++++++++++

I downoaded 10.4.5.dmg (98mb) update from apple site and:

***renamed old IONetworkingFamily.kext

sudo mv -R /system/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext /system/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext.10.4.4

***cp new ONetworkingFamily.kext file

sudo mv -R /Updater/IONetworkingFamily.kext /system/Library/Extensions/IONetworkingFamily.kext

*** reworked permissions

chown -R root:wheel /system/Library/Extensions/

*** cleane up cache

sudo rm /system/Library/Extensions.kextcahe

sudo rm /system/Library/Extensions.mkext

kextcache /rm /system/Library/Extensions

reboot

RESULTS:

+++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

does not Seem to load driver on boot & no error message, however still says cable unplugged... no feedback from terminal when i ifconfig

I looked in ONetworkingFamily.kext/Contents/Plugins/ and there only seems to be AppleYukon.kext, and that don't look right

tried download from apple 10.4.3.dmg at apple download site(93mb) and this time same results after above procedure and only two kexts files in Plugins...

I need the AppleIntel8522.kext from 10.4.3, is that right?

appreciate any pointers/solutions

i am having exactly the same problems.. but with native fresh install of jas 10.4.6... my workaround was to use a separate LAN card. FYI, there was a point when w/o the network card, using the built-in card, i was able to get connected. but after a reboot, connection didn't worked again. ;)
