tatapoum
Hi guys, I've successfully installed a WinXP - Mac OS X 10.4.6 dual boot on my laptop using VMware and the physical disk. The only problem is that the OS X partition doesn't boot (with the chain0 method I see a "chain booting error"). If the OSX partition is active, the BIOS can't find the OS at all. Same problem if I try to boot OSX into VMWare. However, I can boot OSX into VMWare if I boot on the DVD. Then I press F8, and specify the kernel and root device to the bootloader : mach_kernel rd=disk0s3. This works. So it makes me think that for some reason the bootsector wasn't written on the OSX partition during the install. Is there a way to fix it ? /David Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100831-chain-booting-error/ Share on other sites
