robmw
So I had Kalyway 10.5.1 running perfectly on my pc but wanted to install aperture 2.... which requires 10.5.2 since i knew that the Kalyway 10.5.2 update has caused many problems, i figured i would make a duplicate of my Leopard drive before attempting the update.... so i used SuperDuper to copy the drive onto a partition on a different physical drive well sure enough, the 10.5.2 update bricked my install, so i just booted up with the Kalyway install disc and went into disk utility and instructed it to copy the backup i made back onto the original drive, which it did.... but now it wont boot does anyone have any suggestions as to what i might try to do to make this drive bootable again? ps. i have tried changing the boot drives orders in the BIOS thanks in advance for any help! robmw
well i tried going into system prefs, startup disk, but it doesnt show EITHER of the disks (the clone that i am sometimes able to boot from, or the original drive) i booted from the Kalyway disk, and repaired permissions on both, but it still wont boot from it i dont know what else to do.... could you at least tell me something else to google? cause i've been googling the issue quite a bit thank you Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100769-how-to-make-drive-bootable-again/#findComment-720443 Share on other sites

twiztidhavok
try using the GParted live cd and make the partition (Where you copied the MAC OSX install) and edit the flag to make that partition bootable, idk if it will work but give it a try. zitounec
For some reasons sometimes you will notice that the partition is flagged as "boot" but...not booting. I've fixed that with GParted live CD. - Run Gparted and flag the boot option OFF then click "Close" windows after unflagging. - Re-open flag window, re-select "boot" and click "Close" button. It should work... Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/100769-how-to-make-drive-bootable-again/#findComment-722311 Share on other sites
