Hi Everyone

My installation method is using a retail DVD and installing it through another

hackintosh and replacing:

dsmos, SMBios, IONetworkingFamily and EFI kernel extensions.

I also use GFX strings to enable my GeForce 8800GTS (G80).

So I can say I am running as vanilla as it gets ;)

(I am also experiencing better performance and a lot less lockups running games and applications

comparing to pre-patched DVDs, like Kalyway 10.5.2)

  1. Everything is working fine (except restart) including TimeMachine but
whenever I have Mail.app as my focused application and then I click on
Time Machine icon in Dock everything on my desktop disappears (except for Mail.app)
and it looks like it's getting ready to enter the time space, but it doesn't
  2. Clicking anywhere on the desktop background brings everything back to normal
and I can continue to work.
However whenever I go back to Mail to send an email or check my emails, again
everything on Desktop (including Dock) disappears except for Mail.app.
I should say that Mail works just fine and I can send/receive :)

Checking the log messages in Console I came across this line:

MailTimeMachineHelper[318] *** -[MTMMailbox recoverDisplayName]: unrecognized selector sent to instance 0x8b9f40

So it seems these two can not communicate properly.

If anyone has any idea on this problem or can give me a hint about the source of the problem

I would appreciate it.

This is my system info:

Gigabyte 965P-DS3 (v.3.3) (JMicron, Intel, AZAL chipsets)

Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 @ 2.4 GHz

Corsair 4GB (DDR2 800 MHz, 2.1 volt)

Geforce 8800GTS 320 MB (G80)

and 2 SATA hard disks.

thanks in advance

  • 1 month later...

This problem seems to be related to IMAP accounts.

I created another user on the same machine and setup Mail to access my Gmail account through POP and Time Machine Just worked and I didn't have this problem.

Will update this post if I find more information.
