TranSport
Is it me or does Adobe CS1 preform a lot better than Adobe CS2 in OSX86? I also noticed the same is true for Iwork '05 seems less buggy than Iwork '06? Does anyone else notice this or is it just my slow system? A Nonny Moose
Adobe crapware will run about the same on any Mactel/OSX86 because it will have to run in Rosetta. With that being said, the previous version will most likely run faster because the system requirements are *probably* lower. Please use GraphicConverter, which will run natively because it's a universal application and is much cheaper than Adobe. As for iWork, that's just weird if it runs faster. 06 should be spanking its behind in terms of speed. In terms of bugs...I don't know, because I still use 05 Link to comment https://www.insanelymac.com/forum/topic/10056-is-adobe-cs1-quicker-than-cs2-in-osx86-same-goes-for-iwork/#findComment-63375 Share on other sites
TranSport
Hey Thanks for the info on GraphicConverter. I also have been looking for a Mac Cad program for quite a while too. I noticed they use Cadintosh. I may try this one in addtion. As for Iwork '05 and Iwork '06. My I work '05 is just slow on start up in x86. Then it works great there after unless I try to save items in .pdf it crarshed 50% of the time. Then I put I work '06 on there and it crashed always. Wasn't even usabel so I went back to '05. I've got a Celeron D 2.26 w/ 1 gig of ram. (10.4.3 8f111a) Not major stuff but should be abe to handle a simple documents program? Right? Anyhows thanks I will try GraphicConverter. Cheers. A Nonny Moose
It's an unsupported system, so I'd be more likely to say the application is making the system unstable. Granted, working through a patch already makes the system unstable. It's an unsupported system, so I'd be more likely to say the application is making the system unstable.
