ilya22
I've installed the kalyway 10.5.2 on my pc intel 6550E Intel Pearl Creek DG31PR ATI x1950 pro 4GB OCZ 800 160GB WD sata X2 what happens after the installation is that with the DVD it loads up the installation again and without it it runs XP normally i've installed it on a partition on an HD that is not the one with winXP, and that's the only available place on my HDs i understand that it can be problematic, but is there a way that i can boot from there? will this work in my case?: http://forum.insanelymac.com/index.php?showtopic=82060 i'm sorry if it was asked before, i did my best to search for answer and came up with nothing.. Yes that can be used to set active partition ,id leave your main xp partition alone though, just make sure your mac os partition is active, otherwise i dont think you will be able to boot into xp otherwise. Acidic
hey ilya ive been doing what you have been doing, attempting to boot off two different drives. so far ive been ssome what successful. ive been following parts of this guide Dual booting guide I recommend you just dump acronis, its unreliable and gave me a heap of troubles. What i did was boot off my kalyway 10.5.2, went to disk utility, went to the partition tab, created 1 partition and made it a mbr, and formatted under mac os x(journaled). I installed it and it booted up on mac os x successfully. Now im gonna reboot the computer and boot off the install disc again and go to terminal and tell it to active the windows xp disc (as shown in guide) , then im gonna copy over chain0 to c drive and edit my boot.ini to include mac os x. I'm hoping this process will work for me, and i think it would work for you too.
