bchris999
Hi, I am trying to get an install of OS X86 on a computer. I have 2 possible computers to install onto... my Sony TR5 laptop (preferred) or my desktop. I have the Jas patched install DVD (test working on a machine at work.. its so easy to install there!) My trouble is this: For the laptop, because of Sony releasing a dodgy firmware, my DVD drive can no longer read DVD R disks (either + or -).... I can see no way of being able to boot the installer to do an install :S Any ideas? Is there a way of creating a CD install set from the DVD? Or for the desktop install, the computer is a PC Chips Mobo M825 with a Athlon XP processor.. but when booting I get to the grey apple screen, then i get a kernel panic with "Local APIC error" as the message. Any ideas? I have already tried a BIOS upgrade, with no luck! Any help appreciated! Thanks!
