mr8gigquadie
Same boat here, asus laptop that is almost 100% complete, the menus show up as white til you click off to something else, then you can see the text as the menu fades/disappears. Also checked quartz extreme graphics on loading "widgets" or whatever they are called. They artifact white. But everything else appears to be fine. Anyone have an idea on how to fix this? i know there was a similar issue with some ati cards that had been rectified. Any help would be greatly appreciated. aqua-mac
I also have the same problem of blank drop down menus along with at least one other user that I know of using a 9800 GTX in OSX86. You will also find that you get "Unknown GL Engine" if you use "Open GL Extensions Viewer" and no ripple effect when opening Dashboard in spite of the fact that System Profiler reports Core Image and Quartz Extreme as being fully supported. I also found some people had this problem when we were trying to get 8800 GT working with beta drivers before the official 10.5.2 update if the user forgot to install the updated OpenGL.Framework file. I think this may be the problem file and these cards will probably work when Apple adopts the 9 series cards for it's own computers. I have messed around with NVResman to get the system to use the 8800 GT OpenGLEngine but to no avail. The device id of the 9800 GTX is 0612 against the device id of 0611 of the 8800 GT. What we need here is to get hold of the drivers and OpenGL.Framework from 10.5.3 to see if this fixes the issue. If anyone has these drivers they could let me have or any other ideas to help solve this issue, please contact me. EDIT: Menus are working again by replacing these kexts: http://rapidshare.com/files/106584355/aquamac.zip.html You need to swap these kexts into your Extensions folder. You may need to delete the original kexts as opposed to just replacing first on some of them. You must then run this permissions repair script -See Below: Let it run till finished, it takes a while. Then Delete the Extensions.mkext and reboot. You will regain your translucent menubar your drop down menus.

This doesn't really have much to do with menu's being white, but, when I read your post about messing around with NVDAResman I thought I should ask.. My notebook has a GeForce 9300m GS card (0x06e910de), but every time I add my DevID to NVDAResman (with or without an injector installed) Leo boots with a black screen (no backlight, no LCD signal).. Do you know what the problem might be?

I am using Dell E6400 with NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M, and spent days to search for the solutions. I have tried NVinject, NVdarwin, NATIT, but NVdarwin make no effects and both NATIT and NVinject result in that damn "white menu" problem. Since both NATIT and NVinject produce the same problem, I started to think the bug might be not in the video driver, but its supporting kexts. Then I find your post and the problem got solved at last!
