So I get that the patcher modifies AppleHDA.kext, but is it only that? Does the part

* Using the following nodes in pathmap

Back Mic: x x x x x
Line In : x x x x
Speaker : x x
Spdif Out: x x

* Copying new config to destination Done

all take place within AppleHDA.kext?

I can't get the patcher to work, so I'm using someone else's AppleHDA.kext (they have the same system as I do) to no avail; this is why I'm hoping that there is another config file somewhere else that I should be using as well.

Or is this attempt at a fix futile? Does the patcher do more behind the scenes than simply replacing files could replicate?

The destination is inside AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Info.plist | AppleHDA.kext/Contents/MacOS/AppleHDA and AppleHDA.kext/Contents/Plugins/AppleHDAController.kext/Contents/Info.plist
