I'm going to university in September, and I’m wondering long term what I should do.

I'm studying a Bsc in Entertainment & Multimedia Technologies.

This course will mostly be spend in front of a Mac, so I am thinking do any of you think there will be a new Intel PowerMac out before September?

I'm also wondering if I would be better off (cause a PowerMac is an awful lot of beans and booze money wise) buying some hardware from the that compatibility list and building my own “PowerMac” Would it be as fast and cheaper (I'm guessing it will be bloody cheaper?)

P.S (anyone think i use brackets too much?)

While it's possible that new PowerMacs will be available before then, you might be just as well off to buy an iMac. It would certainly take up less room, and will be capable of handling just about anything you can throw at it.
