fryke
Got that PC connected to a 1280*1024 LCD and it works fine. By default it goes to 1024*768, I can add 1280x1024x32 to the com.apple.Boot.plist but it doesn't take the resolutions I'd need to connect it to my HDTV. I'd want either 1280*720, 1366*768 (display's native resolution) or 1280*768 (the res that works fine for the same hardware combo in Windows Vista). Any ideas? fryke
I first had the numbers wrong. Had to edit the post wildly. Previously, it looked as if there was no problem at all. Sorry for that. :/ If someone could help me please... It looks like currently my Hackintosh only wants to output 4:3 resolutions on the GMA950 chipset. I get 640*480, 800*600, 1024*768 and 1280*1024 (actually, that's a 5:4 res) without problems (well, I have to put them in the boot.plist file, can't choose in the Displays prefpane). But as soon as I enter a 16:9 aspect ratio, it automatically turns to the nearest 4:3 ratio. :/
cyclonefr
Put AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext from 10.4.4 and enjoy full resolution switching from display's prefpane. Yep, to have this file, the search function/google is your friend
fryke
Sounds like I'd have to get the complete JaS 10.4.8 DVD for one .kext-file. :/ Has anybody got it and can send it to me? PM me, please...
fryke
sorry for bumping this after 24h, but has anyone got the 10.4.4 AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext I need and could make it available to me/send it to me? It should only be about 100-200 KB... EDIT: so...found the .kext, installed it correctly (removing the caches etc.), rebooted: no change, can't switch resolutions, i.e. only the one I've set in the Boot.plist shows up. thecomputermagician
Could someone please give a good url for a Torrent of a good copy of Tiger 10.4 for the Intel Based MACS. I need one that I can boot from and do a fresh install. Thanks thecomputermagician
fryke
tried to install the .kext again, this time it took. can adjust resolutions now. sadly, the computer doesn't boot into the Finder when connected to my HDTV. instead, after the grey screen with the loading-cycle-icon, it only shows an empty blue screen. with my normal TFT, it works fine. switching video cable _after_ booting doesn't show an image on the HDTV either. :/
