Poney
Hi' ! It's my first post here, but i often read this forum and it's pretty useful. Anyway, here is my problem : I've installed a fresh Leopard 9A527 kalyway build on my USB hard drive. I've had no problem and the only thing I've had to do to boot my computer is to remove GeForce.kext and Natit.kext (because I've a GeForce 8800 GTS that make Natit crash). Problems really start here : When i boot, it bring me to the usual Welcome screen for fist boot configuration, so i choose my language, my import options (no import for me) and finally my keyboard. When i click "Continue" after choosing my keyboard my computer start to "think" and i can see the little wheel turning. But after a while, it re bring me to the begining of the Welcome config screen. I don't understand I've finally find a solution for that problem, I've juste booted in Single User mode (-s flag) and created (with nano) an empty file in /var/db/.AppleSetupDone So now i can boot and it brings me to the desktop with all apps working, i can fix my audio drivers, launch itunes, safari etc. All works exept I CAN'T INSTALL anything. When I want to launch my G80 driver pkg he just told that he can't write to the directory, even if i change my drive autorisation to get everyone to have "Read and Write" acces. And it's the same for all package ; I've tried with Parrallels, Reason 4, etc. and nothing works Here is my config : MB : Gigabyte GA-965P-DS4 CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 RAM : 4*1GB G-Skill DDR2 4-4-4-12 @ 800Mhz GPU : XFX GeForce 8800 GTS 640 MB HD : Western Digital MyBook 500 GB with 2 partitions (400 GB in NTFS with no OS and 65 GB in HFS+ with Leopard) WiFi : DWL-G520 (but i can't get it detected) I hope you can help me Thanks, Poney Edit : Copy/Cut/Paste and drag n' drop don't work. Edit 2 : I've tried too reinstall 3 times and I stille get the same problems, so I think I'll try on an internal drive. Edit 3 : It's my first OSX installation and usage, I usually use Linux or even Windows, so I don't know anything on OSX and any idea will be welcome PS : I'm sorry for my very bad english, i'm french

behnstedt
Hello, I've had exactly the same problems for about 4 weeks (No drag/drop, permissions wrong, no permissions repair possible, installation of packages did not work)! No tips helped. I tried the BrazilMAC installation and the pacifist method an several own ideas. At some point I tried to install with the help of a PowerMac and Carbon Copy Cloner. Now it works perfectly! Here my little guide for that: http://forum.osx86scene.com/viewtopic.php?f=16&t=2732 Greetings behnstedt
